Can any one give any advice on installing the bills on crank baits.I have exhausted what little knowledge that I have and still end up with a bill that is not straight.

cut the bill slot when the wood is still squared.

I have turned some baits and found that it is very difficult to get a straight slot. I cut it before turning and it is better.
