Hi Everyone,

I've started creating some tutorial videos for YouTube about tackle making and fishing topics.  I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on topics you'd like to see covered?

Thanks!

I saw your video on the through wire construction. Very nice, although I have a question about what size drill bit and wire you are using. I have a long bait I would like to through wire, but can't find a small enough drill bit that is long enough to pull off the job.

Sure! Thanks to everyone for your video ideas. We're in the process of releasing our new whole new TackleMaking.com website (for the magazine launch - don't worry...it will all still be free) and we'll be able to make some more videos as soon as that project is done. Hopefully we'll have the new videos up by mid-October at the latest.

Thanks!!

hhredneck,
Depending on how long the lure is, buy a 3/16" or 1/8", long shank [5-6"] drill bit. If you don't have a lathe with a drill chuck fitting, you'll have to "eyeball'. Use a hand, electric drill, & hold the lure in your other hand. From BOTH ends try to drill one hole towards the other Sometimes, if you hold your tounge just right, it will help your steering. Maybe slightly squint one eye a little bit. [Kidding]. DON'T try to drill all the way through from one end; you'll come out WAY off center. Good luck

TackleMaking,
I have 2 top quality Paasche airbrushes, & I use Polytranspar, waterbase acrylics. BUT, --- I cannot get the hang of detail painting. I barely do a passible job with stencils, & scale netting. But freehand, lousey. If I get as close as I want to, it splatters, [fans out] from the air pressure; if I mix thicker, the tip clogs in no time. Very frustrating. If I could get some hands on video lessons, it might help me. By the way, I'll take anyone's help.
